The Nuclear Fuel Complex is a leading Industrial Unit of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. It Fulfills the fuel requirement of Nuclear Power Reactors. It was established in 1968 to provide self-reliance incomplete nuclear fuel cycle. NFC is responsible for the manufacturing of nuclear fuel bundles for Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWR), Boiling Water Reactors (BWR), and Fast breeder reactors; many reactor core components, various tubes, high-purity special materials, etc.
Dr. Dinesh Srivastava is the chairman and chief executive of Nuclear Fuel Complex. Their head office is located in Hyderabad. To enhance the production of the Zirconium sponge they set up a Zirconium complex in the year 2009, at Pazhayakayal, Tamilnadu. To fulfill the increasing demand, NFC again set up a Fuel production facility at Kota, Rajasthan.
