The OSSC will conduct the WEO written examination in two stages i)Preliminary Examination and Main Examination.

WEO Preliminary Exam Pattern

• The preliminary exam will be conducted for 100 marks.
• The questions will be objective MCQ type with 4 options.
• The mode of examination is offline OMR sheet mode
• There shall be 100 questions from the General Awareness section
• Each question carries 1 mark.
• There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks the wrong answer.
• The duration of the exam is of 90 minutes

WEO Mains Exam Pattern

• The Main exam will be conducted for 300 marks.
• There shall be 100 questions each from the General Studies, English, and Odia language.
• Each question carries 1 mark.
• There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks the wrong answer.
• The duration of the exam is 4.5 hours
• Language papers will be descriptive in nature.
• The General Studies paper will be objective.
