UPSC CDS I Application 2023 Released: Apply for 341 Vacancies
UPSC CDS 2023 notification is released by the Union Public Service Commission of India. The UPSC is inviting online applications from eligible and candidates for Combined Defense Service examination 2023.
Interested and eligible candidates can fill up application form for UPSC CDS(I) by visiting the official portal of UPSC i.e upsc.gov.in. The application process is starting from 21st December 2022. The last date to apply for UPSC Combined Defence Service examination is 10th January 2023.

Eligibility Criteria for CDS(I) Recruitment
Candidates are required to fulfil the following eligibility criteria to apply for CDS (ii) entrance examinations.
Age Limit
- For IMA— Male unmarried candidates born between 2nd January 2000 and 1st January 2005 only are eligible.
- For Indian Naval Academy- Male unmarried candidates born between 2nd January 2000 and 1st January 2005 only are eligible.
- For Air Force Academy – 20 to 24 years as on 1st January, 2024 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 2000 and not later than 1st January, 2004 (Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 yrs. i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 1998 and not later than 1st January, 2004 only are eligible
Educational Qualification
- Indian Military Academy : Must have degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Officers’ Training Academy: Must have degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Indian Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
- Air Force Academy: Degree from a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering
Candidates who are studying in the final year/semester Degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply provided the candidate should not have any present backlog up to the last semester/year for which results have been declared up to the time of submission of application.
Examination Pattern
The written exam consists of Objective Type questions with a time limit of 2 hrs (two hours) and a maximum score of 100(one hundred) points for each subject.
For candidates applying to the Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy, a written test consisting of English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics is required, as well as a written test consisting of English and General Knowledge for candidates applying to the Officers Training Academy.
